3rd Place: We Are Forsaken! by AceofHorroz

You extinguished Ragnaros inside the fiery core of Blackrock Mountain. Illidan ran scurrying from the Black Temple when he heard you approaching. The Lich King lies trapped in the Frozen Throne. Now, Deathwing presents a new challenge for you and your band of heroes. Azeroth stands forever changed, crying out for champions. It is in this setting that J!NX presents unto you
The World of Warcraft Design Arcade Challenge!

We look to you, the faithful denizens of Azeroth to muster your artistic skills and design the next wave of tees in the J!NX World of Warcraft Collection. Your design should capture the rivalry, the spirit of competition, the accomplishment, and the dominance you feel when you enter that world. Will you throw some witty text on a cool background?

Will you come up with an inside joke that only end-game players will smirk at? Will you declare your fealty to the Alliance, or will your design scream For the Horde!? This is your chance to decide the epic gear that you and 12 million other players will be wearing.

Submit your t-shirt design concept and get judged by the World of Warcraft and J!NX creative teams! Just download our Design Kit, throw your design on there, and click submit to upload your work. Submissions will be accepted until February 16, 11:59 PM PST. Voting will commences the evening of February 22, and runs through March 8. Winners to be announced no later than 1 week after the voting period ends, pending responses from the winners. GO VOTE NOW!

What to do

  • Create an original design from the
    ground up.
    • Design in high print-quality resolution.
    • Design should be made to the size it would be on a shirt, 300 dpi preferred, even though your initial submission will be smaller.
    • Your file should be layered, not flat.
  • Develop an understanding of what can
be done with standard screen printing techniques – if we can’t print it, we can’t approve it, no matter how cool the design might be.
  • Encourage every single person you know to vote for your design.

What not to do

  • Taking a screen shot and just pasting
    onto a shirt template.
  • Swiping someone else’s art and using
    it as your own.
    • This includes images from other
      WoW licensed partners.
  • Designing an all-over print.
    • Make sure your design will work on a small shirt and a 4X shirt without resizing.
    • Max size should be about 17x22.
    • It’s a good idea to avoid designing
      near seams.

  • Entries must be received by 11:59:59 PM (PT) on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 and be submitted to the J!NX Design Arcade.
  • Entrants must be at least 13 years old.
  • Submission requires two images: a small GIF thumbnail (150 x 150 pixels), and the main display image, which should be exactly 900 pixels wide and 533 pixels tall. The main image may be in JPG, GIF, or PNG format. Once you have created and sized your images, use the submission form to submit your design.
  • Although you will be submitting your art at a lower resolution - 72 dpi (dots per inch) for web - you will want to create your art at 300 dpi. If you win, we will request the high resolution version. Be creative, have fun, and if possible, avoid the low hanging fruit. It isn’t as tasty.
  • World of Warcraft is a TEEN-rated game, so please don’t include nudity, drug use, realistic violence, alcohol, etc.
  • You may submit more than one entry.
  • Online entries only, hard copies not accepted.
  • You must be a member of J!NX to enter. Membership is free.
  • Read the Official Rules!
  • Winning entries will be selected via a combination of public votes
    plus J!NX and Blizzard’s input.
  • Submissions will be screened by the J!NX and Blizzard’s creative teams.
Upon approval, submissions will be posted on the J!NX Design Arcade
    for public voting.
  • Public voting will run from February 7th, 2011 to February 21, 2011.
Winners will be announced no later than March 14th, 2011.
  • Read the Official Rules!

About World of Warcraft Cataclysm:

A new age has begun. You’ve toppled the undead armies of the Lich King and brought Arthas to his knees. Now the breaker of worlds, Deathwing, has burst forth from the heart of the Maelstrom and unleashed his rage upon the land and sea. Azeroth has been changed forever, and you must enter the elemental planes in an epic quest to stop the Destroyer from shattering the world itself.

If you or a friend are currently playing Wrath of the Lich King and haven’t yet experienced the content Cataclysm has to offer, you can sign up now to play a 10-day free trial version of this latest expansion for World of Warcraft.

During your free trial, you'll undertake epic new quests, explore the reshaped and newly discovered lands of Azeroth, and see the world from a whole new perspective as one of the shape-changing worgen or crafty goblins.

To participate, you’ll need full versions of World of Warcraft and the first two expansions, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. Note that a character of at least level 78 is required to explore the new, high-level zones. More information on the 10-day free trial is available in our FAQ. We look forward to seeing you in the new Azeroth!
